Egg-imals

I've been meaning to post about these for a few weeks. But, Hunter has been so horribly protective if them lately that I have not had a chance to snap a photo. However, this week he was kind enough to display them on the piano for ALL to see. He's SUPER proud of them. So proud that he displayed them at our Ward Talent Night last week.

It all started back at Easter this year. We made animals out of eggs for name placements for our fabulous Easter Dinner. Hunter helped then too. Then I put them away with the Easter stuff after wards. Hunter ran across "the owl" that didn't make it into the box and he took very good care of it: played with it, protected it (from Robyn), gave it a name, slept with it, fed it, etc. Then, he decided he wanted more. So, we spent a Sunday re-creating the mouse, the cat, the pig, etc. We finished up the collection with this guy who was 100% created with Hunter's fabulous imagination.:
Okay, this egg-imal is 1/4 skunk (tail--can't really see it in this picture)), 1/4 dog (ears), 1/4 owl (wings), 1/4 cat (nose). I'm not even sure which animal contributed the smirk or the two feet. What did Hunter name him...X27X

mmm....must be a relative of 626.

Gotta love Hunter's imagination!! It never ceases to amaze me. I have trouble keeping up with it sometimes.

By the way, I DID NOT come up with this Egg-imals idea. Hats off to my favorite magazine FamilyFun for such wonderful ideas!

Foods With Moods

The other day I went out and picked one of my "poor excuse for a pepper" orange peppers. The smallest pepper I've ever seen...

Then, I got to looking at it and I just started to chuckle:
It reminded me of a much-loved book that is read MANY times in our home, even now: How Are You Peeling: Foods with Moods by Saxton Freymann and Joost Elffers Who wouldn't laugh at these wonderful pictures in this book! If you haven't read this book, check it out!

Made me wonder what MY poor little pepper might be feeling...
