Sew Much Fun!

Yes, we've been busy with all things summer but I did have time to start and finish a few sewing projects....of course, all for Robyn.

We all saw this dress in the last post. Here it is finished (complete with buttons and a hem now).
This next dress I made with some fabric I bought years ago with the intention of making a blouse for me. Obviously, I never got around to that. Made this dress instead. While I LOVE how it turned out, I never intended it to be semi-formal (thanks to the fabric). I used plastic pearls for accents. But still very cute and I'm pleased with it. However, this dress is still too big for Robyn to model for me. Any 2-yr. old volunteers out there??I can't take total credit for this next outfit. My sister-in-law made the skirt and headband for Robyn. Absolutely cute! I just HAD to make a shirt to match. Oh how I love ribbon!!I'm having way too much fun sewing and creating outfits and dresses...it's so addicting and somewhat therapeutic (depending on what I'm sewing). It's been too many years since I've seriously sewn something...feels good to get back into it.

FYI: Unfortunately I have no pictures of our family trip with friends to Lake Palestine, Space Center Houston or our various trips to the Lake Livingston Lodge...uh, I was too busy enjoying everything too! I guess I would qualify as a slacker photographer :}

Bandana Baby

Hard to believe that this little girl is turning a year old today!

This picture absolutely sums up her personality!Happy Birthday Princess!

I made this dress for her. However, it wasn't quite done when I took the picture. I was actually just trying it on her for size purposes. We've decided that it's not a good dress to wear while she's still an avid crawler. As she crawls she catches the dress on her knees and the snaps on the shoulders come undone. She essentially crawls right out of it. Kind of funny, but not something that I want happening at church. Now I understand why baby girl dresses are so short...

Thanks for the bandana fabric mom! The total cost of making this dress was 99 cents (the cost of the pattern)! I'm not savvy enough to create things like this without a pattern.
